Cops Hunt Forest Hills Butt-Knife Brute
Queens detectives are searching for a violent suspect who followed a man into a Forest Hills bodega on September 9 and repeatedly stabbed him in the buttocks.
Cops are seeking help from the public to identify and locate the brute who attacked the 48-year-old victim multiple times, with no apparent reason, police said.
An in-store surveillance video shows the attacker following the victim into the bodega at 99-18 63rd Rd. in Forest Hills at about 5:45 p.m.
The video shows the victim standing near a counter inside the store, while a small child gawks at a candy counter just a few feet away.
The suspect suddenly – and without provocation – plunges a knife into the man’s buttocks five times in rapid, underhand thrusts, police said. Cops said it is unclear what set off the attack.
The man fled the store in an unknown direction, leaving the bloodied victim and others inside the store cringing from the violent act.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
The suspect is described as a black male, 30-40 years old, six-feet, two-inches tall and 230 pounds.
The suspect was wearing a white T-shirt, gray sweatpants, a black hat and black sneakers at the time of the attack.
The frustrated store employee told reporters he was “not familiar” with the suspect and that this is the first incident of its kind to occur inside the bodega.
